About the Centre

The Leuven Centre for Public Law (LCPL) brings together the knowledge and experience of the former Institutes for Administrative Law, Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Education Law, Environmental & Energy Law, Human Rights Law, Immigration Law & Anthropology of Law, Legal Theory & Empirical Jurisprudence and Medical Law.

LCPL is embedded in the renowned KU Leuven Law Faculty, ranked 25th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (2021).

Our team consists of a rich mixture of dedicated researchers and well-respected practitioners, both on the bench and in international organizations or leading law firms. This ensures that our research is both theoretically well-founded and tuned in to practice, relying on a broad international network.

Our researchers benefit greatly from the well-established research culture at LCPL, which encourages social commitment and broad participation on the international stage. Thus LCPL welcomes visiting scholars from around the globe whilst facilitating research stays abroad for in-house experts.
